NEW FINES FOR UNRESTRAINED PETS IN CARS
28-02-2010
From January 1, 2010, new fines were introduced relating to unrestrained pets in cars.

Pets must be restrained within a seatlbelt mounted harness, in a crate or behind a cargo barrier.

Of course, we all know that dogs must be restrained when in the back of utes or trucks, but this new law relates to those pets who travel inside the car.

Fines of up to $265 and the loss of 2 demerit points apply - so please keep your pets safe while travelling.
